Spring is Here (Eight Nursery Rhymes)

Spring is Here is the title of a song written by my daughter Fiona at the age of 8. One day, I came home to discover her at the piano with ms paper in hand, trying to figure out how to get some music that was in her head down on paper. We worked together, she playing and me notating, until we had agreement on what she wanted.

The fifth song in this cycle begins essentially as she wrote it, with a bit of arrangement thrown in by me for the four voices. I built the rest of the set around her piece, adding some variations of her song and a collection of nursery rhymes that we sang to our children when they were still young enough to let us.
